Key dates and how to vote
Two elections decide the seats on this site. Some races finish in August; some finish in November; a few are already settled because nobody filed against the incumbent.

Closed primaries, in plain terms
Florida runs closed partisan primaries. For a partisan race (county commission, the Legislature, Governor, Congress) you can only vote in the primary of the party you are registered with.
Nonpartisan races are different. School board, judges, city commission and soil-and-water seats are open to every registered voter in August, whatever your registration says.
One quirk worth knowing: when a write-in candidate qualifies for a partisan seat, the primary closes to that party even if every other candidate is from the same one. Two races on this site work that way.
Your elections office
Not on the 2026 ballot
Each of these was last elected in 2024 on a four-year term, so neither county has a 2026 contest for it. They are next on the ballot in 2028. The seat is not vacant and the officeholder is not up for re-election this year.
